Despite hysteria in the weeklies about “why she can’t find love,” it’s not completely over between Taylor Swift and Conor Kennedy. We’re told that Swift has remained very close to the Kennedy family, so much that the singer has confirmed she will attend the Dec. 3 RFK Gala, where she’ll be honored in front the whole Kennedy clan — including Conor if he is allowed out of school. Sources tell us he and Swift have stayed in phone contact despite being kept apart. He’s currently at Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts while she’s been busy promoting her new album “Red.” Swift, 22, will be honored at the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights’ Ripple of Hope Awards Dinner at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square along with Wall Street executive and philanthropist Vincent A. Mai. The gala will be hosted by Ethel Kennedy, widow of Robert F. Kennedy, while Alec Baldwin will serve as master of ceremonies. Family members expected to be present include Kerry Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The guest list also includes Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas, Matthew Broderick, Mia Farrow and Harry Belafonte.

Ethel Kennedy on Taylor Swift;

Taylor Swift graces the cover of Rolling Stone’s latest issue, where she gives a revealing interview on “falling hard” and having no rules when it comes to love, and of course, her highly scrutinized relationship with a Kennedy.
Taylor defends herself against the notion some have that she falls into serious relationships too quickly, arguing that you can’t care about what everybody thinks in order to fall in love.
“The way I look at love is you have to follow it, and fall hard, if you fall hard. You have to forget about what everyone else thinks,” she says. “It has to be an us-against-the-world mentality. You have to make it work by prioritizing it, and by falling in love really fast, without thinking too hard. If I think too hard about a relationship I’ll talk myself out of it. …I have rules for a lot of areas of my life. Love is not going to be one of them.”
But Taylor does reveal herself to have almost overly romantic tendencies when it comes to love.
“I love the ending of a movie where two people end up together. Preferably if there’s rain and an airport or running or a confession of love,” she says.
And then there’s the decor of her Nashville condo.
“It’s a whole Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland structure here. It’s what the inside of my brain looks like, essentially.”
But although she was involved in relatively short relationships with both John Mayer and Jake Gyllenhaal, according to Taylor, her relationships are always fully formed — she doesn’t “hook up.”
“No,” she says definitively. “Where’s the romance? Where’s the magic in that? I’m just not that girl.”
On her latest relationship with 18-year-old Conor Kennedy, Taylor clearly reads the negative press surrounding them, though she tries not to.
“How did I kidnap him?,” she responds, referencing reports that she “kidnapped” him by flying him to Nashville. “You can’t kidnap a grown man! These are serious accusations, now! It’s an interesting way to spin something into a story. See, this is why I don’t read stuff.”
And about crashing a Kennedy wedding, which Kathie Lee Gifford confirmed on the Today show?
“I have no idea what happened there. I think that story was based on the biggest misunderstanding, ‘cause I would never knowingly show up somewhere that I thought I wasn’t invited to,” she explains. “And I would never want to upstage anybody.”

Taylor Swift made the journey out to western Massachusetts this weekend to visit her high school honey, Deerfield Academy junior Conor Kennedy, but there were no footall games or school dances on the couple’s agenda. In fact, their weekend agenda was more like a middle-aged couple’s than a pair of young lovers …
The duo kicked it off Friday night with a low-key dinner at the appropriately named Taylor’s Tavern in Greenfield, where Swift, looking lovely in a green dress, ordered a salad, and even let Conor grab a few bites. He sported the typical prep-school “uniform” of shorts and a button-down shirt, and ordered a burger.
But don’t worry that 22-year-old Taylor is a negative influence on Conor, who’s got to wait a few years before he can legally hit the bars. Staff told the Track that the couple’s beverages of choice were all non-alcoholic.
The next day, Taylor hit the antiques circuit, and was spotted cruising for hidden treasures at Old Station Antiques in Deerfield. Furnishing her new home on the Cape, perhaps? Unfortunately, the saleswoman wasn’t too keen on giving us any details.
The couple capped off the weekend at the Montague Book Mill cafe, where Tay Tay showed she’s got a healthy appetite. In addition to a warm brown rice salad and a curried chicken sandwich, Taylor ordered an everything bagel with cream cheese AND butter!
“She was very nice,” a cafe employee told the Track. “And a little bit shy.”
Meanwhile, US Weekly caught up with Conor’s Aunt Rory Kennedy at theCreative Arts Emmys in Los Angeles over the weekend, and asked what she had to say about her nephew’s new love.
“I think she’s fantastic and I couldn’t be more thrilled,” said the documentary filmmaker. “She’s a good friend of our family and we all adore her and love her. It’s great to have her around.”
She hit the antique store, why am I not surpirsed. lol
It was confirmed she didn’t have a house on the cape :P
We already know that Caroline Kennedy is a big fan of Conor Kennedy’s girlfriend Taylor Swift (and her music).
And now, Conor’s aunt Rory Kennedy is giving the cute couple her seal of approval.
“I love her music,” Rory told us of Conor and Taylor at today’s Creative Arts Emmy Awards in L.A.
“I love her,” the Emmy-nominated filmmaker gushed. “She’s terrific. Huge fan.”
When asked what she thinks of her 18-year-old nephew dating the 22-year-old singer, she smiled, “Very sweet.”
Conor and Taylor do have Rory to thank for their budding romance, after all. ”Rory went to a concert of hers with her two little girls, and that’s how that started,” Conor’s grandmotherEthel Kennedy told reporters last month of the Taylor-Kennedy connection.
Just last week, Conor’s cousin Caroline sounded off on her favorite Swift song while talking to CBS This Morning. “Romeo,” she laughed, referring to the Grammy-winner’s tune “Love Story.”
It sure sounds like Taylor is fitting into the Kennedy family just fine!
This Thursday, Taylor Swift will be performing her new hit song, “We Are Never Getting Back Together,” at the MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles. Also on Thursday, her boyfriend, Conor Kennedy, should be attending his first day of school at Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts. Insiders are left to ask, will Conor dare skip school to be with his girlfriend?
“If Taylor can send a plane to bring him to Nashville after she had to leave his side for just one week then anything is possible,” one former MTV executive told me. “Everyone is hoping that Taylor and Conor attend together. It would be great buzz for the show to have these two walk their first red carpet together.”
Juniors at Deerfield are scheduled to start the new school year on Thursday with a mandatory 9:30 a.m. arrival time, and night visiting hours end at 9:45 p.m. sharp. This would make it impossible for Conor to be with Taylor in California, even if Taylor did pay for a private plane.
“With two years left to graduation, he will not be allowed a ‘special pass’ to let him attend the VMAs,” an expert on higher education tells me. “If he was ill or had a family crisis, an exception would be made. But no way would the school agree that seeing his famous girlfriend perform would be more important than his education. What sort of message would that send to other students or about how seriously the school takes its work?”
