Personal Greetings - Photo #266
During all the fun that CMA Fest brings to Nashville, Lady A got to do a little impromptu photo shoot for USA Today. All the country stars at CMA Fest made their own personal greetings, and from today’s blog post you can see that Charles, Hillary and Dave made their messages fun and lighthearted, just like them. How fitting!
Finally Getting around to writing this blog about another great concert experience… with some drama mixed in! Although not quite the same as the fan drama at the san diego concert… just some problems with the Meet and greets.
So Diane and I were there around 3-3:30pm
Very excited about meeting Lady A today and Diane was mtg T2 for the first time. She was pretty much stressing out all day lol. Will call didn’t have the Meet and greets yet. THey said Lady A would start at 6 and I saw Derek and he said T2 would start at 5;45.
So I had m&gs for both and I was going to try and do both. I wanted Derek to take my presents for T2 but he was busy, so I had to pretend it was someones birthday again. lol
Well it was getting close to M&G time and Will call still didn’t have m&g packets for anybody. Kinda getting anxious. I texted Derek and told him. He said he gave them to someone and saw them take them and asked if I was in the right place and everything. Finally he came down and talked to will call and then a lil later they finally got them
So you could say I pretty much saved the day for everybody! We finally got them and Met Derek by the mcdonalds in the venue. there were only about 5 of us. So I think a lot of people missed the M&Gs b/c everything took so long. but it was already running late and I was kinda freaking out about Lady A too, but I COULD NOT miss seeing my T2. Derek said he didn’t want me to miss my Lady A won b/c it would start on time… but I was almost ok if I did, b/c I just love T2 so much.
Don’t get me wrong I LOVE Lady A, and I hope no one thinks i take mtg them for granted b/c I don’t. I love love their music. It’s just if I had to pick one group to see everyday for the rest of my life T2 would be it. Even though I got to talk to them saturday, I needed to see them again. I needed to give them another hug.
You probably can’t understand that unless you think about that one artist you would do the same thing for (for many of you, Taylor Swift)
So I went down and I asked if I could be first so i could get to the Lady A one. And I saw keifer talking to some people and he saw me and smiled and came over. I told him he could throw away his present b/c it sucked (I tried embroidering a hat) and he’s like “what do you mean, I have it right here.” and he pulled out his phone and showed me the phone cover I gave him was on it :)
Then Shawna walked out of the dressing room and it was like an Angel walked in the room. I just can’t explain it… She’s just the most beautiful person I’ve ever seen! :) :) It was so wonderful to see them! And Shawna’s hair was down this time! Last time and normally it’s in a braid. There were industry people and interviewers so she probably wanted it down and flowing. :) I just left the presents off to the side and told Derek to make sure they got them later. I was kinda flustered b/c i was trying to remember what I wanted to say, but also in a hurry. Shawna saw part of my shirt and asked “Is that an Alabama shirt?” - Thats her favorite team
and I said “no it’s for Keifer” and she put her hands to her mouth as if she was spoiling a surprise.” and I added “they didn’t have one!” (an alabama shirt). But I felt it only right to wear a shirt for Keifer to this M&G since I wore a hello Kitty Skirt on Saturday for Shawna :)
So I asked Keifer if he got any of the banana bread I made of if Derek ate it all lol! and he said he had some that morning :) and I asked Shawna if the pjs fit and she said she hadn’t tried them on yet. lol I love that’s she’s honest and never lies! :)
The last thing I asked is where Shawna was yesterday b/c keifer was recording some songs at a radio place and Shawna wasn’t there, I was asking the radio station why and they said they didn’t know. I figured she was probably dress shopping for the ACM awards b/c in an interview she said she had 2 days off in LA and that’s what she would be doing. So she was kind of thinking back and was like “what was yesterday” and I asked her if she was dress shopping and I cant remember if she said she was shopping with Hillary or if I added were you dress shopping with Hillary but then she said yes.
I didn’t have anything for them to sign, we just hugged and took a picture. I wanted to do a “posed” one this time :) I think it turned out pretty good :)
So after I rushed to try and get to the Lady A m&g. I figured it would still be ok since everything was backed up anyway. I didn’t see anyone outside at the meeting place and was asking workers who were know help. Finally found someone who looked really important and he told me where the VIP entrance is that I needed to go to. There was a worker there guarding the door and I showed her my wrist band and she said I take the elevator up. When I got there, I heard some people say they kind of liked people coming in at different times instead of a huge group all at once.
Lady A was meeting some VIP people first i believe and we were sitting there for a bit and then some of the people running the M&G came over to explain things and get some questions out of the way. They said we could ask Lady A questions but they didn’t want them to be ones they hear all the time, so they tried to answer those for us.
I took to twitter and asked my followers if there was anything they wanted to know. Its so hard to think of things on the spot. I actually got picked by Hillary and I had a fan girl moment like me? She noticed me? lol
And I asked a question sent from Maya about if they have any pre show rituals or weird things they do before the show. They didn’t really. They just said they play ping pong and sing.
After they answered questions they sang Dancing Away With My Heart Acoustic
Then they take you row by row to get a picture with them. There are a lot of people so they don’t sign anything. Kind of a bummer, but I understand too, instead of leaving time to sign stuff, they allow more people to go into the M&G probably. So that’s nice. I mean there were probably 100 or so people there. Anyway I was legit freaking out b/c I was more towards the back and it was Concert starting time. I was hoping they might start late like they did in San Diego, since the M&G were pushed back and all…
I did not want to miss T2 singing… so after some time, I hopped in the line ahead of my turn. No one cared. So when it was my turn to see them Dave was the furthest from me but he kind of extended his arms out for a hug, so I went to him :) and I hugged them all and I asked hillary if she went dress shopping with Shawna. She was probably confused at first but then said that she went dress shopping and bought a dress for Shawna…
hmmm lol so what was Shawna doing??? lol
then I said “thank you for taking them on tour, I love them and I love you!” and they were like awww. And we took our picture and i was walking away and they were like “she’s so cute.” hehe
So then I left and was trying to ask a worker how to get to pit who was giving someone else directions. I was not very patient! then he told me to take the stairs down a flight… so I did… only when I did the door was locked and the only one open led to outside! and once you exit you can’t re enter!! but then a worker open the locked door and asked “are you lost?” and then he helped me, and I was almost crying b/c I could hear T2 singing. So I got down to the pit as fast as I could and I went all the way to the front of the cat walk and stood right in front of the stage. I was singing along and Keifer saw me and he smiled and waved. :)
I only got to see their last 3 songs, missed the first 2 so their set seemed to fly by! :(
By the time Lady A came on, Diane and I were right up by the stage!

There were so many exciting things that happened during the concert! and I fell in love with Dave!! he’s always so quiet and doesn’t talk a lot, but he stole my heart!
