CMA Fest- Thompson Square
Ok all you fellow CMA fest inquirers. :) This is the Blog you’ve been waiting for! or at leas the blog I’ve been most excited to write? I may or may not be obsessed with all things T2. :) In the best way possible. :) Although I don’t have quite as many stories with T2 this week as some of the other artists, the ones we did share pretty much just blow everyone out of the water. :) shhh don’t tell
I wasn’t really sure how the week would go. I had no meet and greets for T2 and didn’t know about the hopeful line thing until friday… and they signed thursday! Now I’m really mad!!! lol I could of gone to that!!!!!! Trying not think about it…. lol
So Tuesday was the day they had the Music City Gives back concert. If you have read any of my past blogs you will probably recognize that name because it’s where Mallary Hope sang on tuesday as well. :)
Now I can tell you what I did between picking up the street team flyers and seeing Mallary Perform. :) So I went downtown and I was walking around and noticed some tour buses. I was trying to get in touch with Derek (T2’s merch manager) to buy a couple t shirts from him. I saw Hal, (Pretty sure that’s a nickname. His name is Erik. lol) who is in their band. He’s the one who’s always by Shawna and she sometimes goes over and rocks out with. :) Anyway i asked Him if he knew where Derek was and he said no and went onto the tour bus… then I get ahold of Derek, who comes off the same tour bus and Al didn’t even tell him I was looking for him!! Lol typical man!!!
So I got some shirts and a bracelet and some pictures to get signed. I had some twitter contests on my fan account for them @T2fanatics (follow it!!! I’ll follow you back) :) Well then Christian (Derek’s manager) started talking to us through his walkie talkie lol. So we all went for lunch with Harvey, their bus driver. :) I had really just eaten so I just got a dr pepper and some fruit.. which they all made fun of me for. Derek just liked to be mean the whole time… :p He’s sweet like that :P Harvey paid for my lunch :) how sweet. :) lol he also took a picture of me…. haha I’m not sure why but derek was like “that just happened.” hahaha. Anyway while we were there, the band The Farm came in and said hi. :) I really didn’t know them but they performed later at the concert as well.
Shawn tweeted me and said that he and T2 may or may not be downtown. lol but they all tweeted they were at the wheel so I went down there. I hoped they were still there since I was at lunch and couldn’t just leave. I mean normally I probably would have lol but let’s not be rude!! So I headed there and saw them outside in this lil patio type place. I just sort of invited myself in like I do. :) They don’t mind cuz that’s just how it is. :) So Shawn was there and Keifer and Shawna and Lesley who you may of remembered me mentioning in the Kristy Lee Cook blog. Also there was Natalie who I just met and the bar’s manager I believe and a couple others. :) It was so wonderful to see them!!! Etta was there too!! I was so excited to meet her!! And I wanted to take a picture with her and Shawna was gonna take it and asked if I wanted Keifer in it so i said sure and he got in.
Then I wanted one with all of us :) Soooo cuteeeeeeeee
I love how people friendly Etta is. Being just a lil puppy, and so small she could be shy around strangers, but she isn’t and totally let me hold her and everything. :) She’s a good little puppy when she’s not chewing things up. :)
So that was the first time I met Lesley and Natalie (the latter of who use to work for Taylor Swift, for 4 years which we talked a bit about). Natalie was pretty much on the computer the whole time lol It was fun meeting more people especially because I like when they all joke around and say I should be on pay roll. :) Makes me feel mighty important.

It was wonderful to just hang out in a relaxed environment. I had them sign the pictures of them. lol (like a true fangirl) lol but hey 2 of them weren’t for me!!! lol Keifer even wrote Love you!! On mine awwwwwww it was the first time i got a personal message other than just my name. :) I actually didn’t even notice it until later and I got really happy. :)
I was talking with shawna and natalie about The Taylor Swift app and everything cuz I was trying to figure out if I had contacted her at all about it in the past. Cuz I remembered someone named Natalie, but it might of been someone else. It was funny b/c Shawna asked how I had time for all this stuff cuz don’t I work too. and I told them a bit about my job and my patient. I showed Shawna the business cards I had made and they are on the back! She asked if she could have one, but I told her I put one in her present already.. which was in her bunk on the bus. Derek put it there for me… so if it’s missing!! lol

I told Shawna I was going to the Colorado shows and she thought I said I was moving to Colorado and asked if I was excited or something . lol. I asked if it was ok if I went. :) I’m weird like that. Anyway she was very sweet as always and the rest of that convo is our little secret. :)

SERIOUSLY, HOW CAN ANYONE BE THAT PRETTY? :)
So Shawna was going inside to get a drink and Keifer asked her to get him one and she was like “really?” lol then she asked Shawn if he wanted anything. Then Keifer was like “wait, hold on. I ask you to get me a drink and you’re like “really?” then you ask Shawn if he wants anything? There’s something wrong here.” lol it was so funny I laughed. Shawna asked if I wanted anything and I was sort of hesitant and she mentioned a shirley temple b/c that’s what I got last time when we were in Vegas. Shawn said it was ok if I don’t drink and Keifer was like “Jencita, if you don’t drink get the hell out of here.” hahaha he was joking! it was funny!!! So then I said a Sweet Nectar. :) That’s what Shawna and Keifer call a shirley temple. :) and Shawna said “Keifer did you hear what she said, she said I’ll have a Sweet Nectar.” :) hehe.
Shawna said I could help her with the drinks so I did. :) They use to bartend at the wheel for 8 years so some regulars I’m sure know them.
One guy was talking to her. :) I try to pretend like it’s completely normal to be hanging around with them. Not get overly excited and when I see other people who are famous I don’t ask them for pictures or anything. I try to not seem like a fan, and more like a friend. So I think it’s still ok that I take pictures with them. :) I mean I am after all still a big fan… or should I say the Duchess of Artist Advocacy as Shawn titled me. lol
It was cute to see Shawna explain to the bartender what a Sweet Nectar is… lol b/c it’s just a shirley temple with lime… but she just told her “so basically what is it, is grenadine….” and when she finished the bar tender was like “so basically just a shirley temple with lime.” haha :) I liked Shawna explaining it. :) She’s adorable. :) I love her voice. Is that weird? yah.. I know … whatever… but it’s just so soothing. Like she literally has this voice that can rock babies to sleep. She literally couldn’t harm a fly.. and if she was ever mad you wouldn’t be able to tell by the sound of her voice. (Keifer might say otherwise!! haha). But it’s just that kind of voice that when you are listening to her, you feel safe and loved and in the presence of someone kind and loving. I love being around her and sometimes that just enough. It’s enough just to be there and not always having to say something. Just being by someone who is so kind hearted and talented and who you admire and Love. That’s priceless. :)
I helped carry the drinks and the cups they were in, were Red Solo Cups… no pun intended… they really were! They Had Toby Keith’s name on them and said red solo cup or whatever lol. Well it brings back memories b/c at the ACAs everyone was on stage during that song and we all had Red Solo Cups to hold up in the air. And I remember one time i tweeted about it being on the radio and I was gonna have a party and invite Thompson Square and they tweeted back and said proceed to party. sooo I told Keifer we needed a picture with our Red Solo Cups :)
I’m not really sure when I got there. But I was there probably about 45 mins or so. It was funny though b/c a fan came out to the patio and then was just kind of there… then went back inside then later came back with her mom and they asked for pictures and stuff. lol I guess she was shy. I don’t blame her. :) I had to leave about 4:30 So I could go see Mallary! :) Didn’t want to miss her perform! That is some dedication right there. I love you Mallary so much that I left hanging out with T2 to come see you play!! #GrowHope :)
I truly love and appreciate them so much. I’m so thankful for everything they and their team do and how wonderful they are. I feel like part of the team. :)
So I went to go to the concert and I noticed 3 girls in front of me with the same Wonderstruck purse as me so i tapped one of them on the shoulder and said nice purse. :) It turns out she follows me on twitter. but i Ddin’t catch her name I don’t think. she was asking me if I knew which bus was T2’s and I told her they were at the wheel if they wanted to go say hi. So they did and said they would be back but it probably got too crowded and I didn’t see them again… but hopefully they got to meet them and had a wonderful time #T2Love
as mentioned, I did see the Farm perform after Mallary and I also Saw Jana Kramer, which I suppose I can write a mini blog about later. I’ll probably just sum up my days/concerts events in separate posts. :)
So it was a bit of a wait before T2 came on. Mallary was on at 4:45pm and They didn’t come on til like 8pm. I warned the people by me that I get a lil crazy when T2 goes on. :) I was so excited jumping up and down! I couldn’t really take good pics of them because it was so dark out but I tried getting a few and recorded some video as well. :)
I just love love love them so much. :) I didn’t want to leave my spot when they finished to go say hi b/c Mallary was coming back on with Clint Black and then I would lose my awesome spot and the street was crowded by this time! I did get to see Mal after she got off the 2nd time so that’s cool. :)

I saw Derek and Christian and Shawn packing up the T2 gear and everything and spoke with them a bit then was gonna head back to the hotel. I stopped along the street a bit b/c it was so crowded and I was gonna have to force my way through the crowd. Well a lady came up to me (who I had seen getting off one of the buses) and she asked If I was Jencita I think. ( I have the worst memory). lol but I guess when she saw me she asked Shawn if I was the one who updated stuff for T2 and he said yes so she wanted to come say hi and tell me what a great job i was doing. She said she had known them for years and Shawna sang at her wedding when she was 18. :) She said they (Shawna and Keifer) really appreciate everything I do. :) :) That totally made my night! :)
so as you can imagine it was a wonderful day. I mean I got to see Mallary Hope and T2 in the same day! You really can’t beat that!… but it sort of repeated it self on thursday! :)
Wednesday Was the CMT awards. I didn’t see T2 up close, but I did see them from afar inside the CMT Awards. I’m not gonna lie I was nervous for the award show. It’s fan voted and they have some tough competition!! I was also nervous b/c they have only won awards twice before, and both times I was at those shows, so they call me their good luck charm. So they had to win tonight or I wouldn’t be their good luck charm anymore!!
So i was really sad when Scotty beat them for Breakout Video… but Had hope for Duo Video of the year. It was presented by Carrie Underwood. I was screaming and yelling! And then Carrie did it, she read off their name!! I went crazy and my friend picked me up and I was so freaking excited!!!!!!! THEY WON!!!! and I’m still their good luck charm!! 3 for 3 :)

Thursday was my next day with T2. :) It was also the same day as Mallary’s FCP :) So I got to see them in the same day again!!

then you will remember that I skipped LP field thursday night so I could go to the T2 concert. :)
So now I will focus on the T2 part of the evening. :)
When Grace and I were at the front of the stage I saw Shawn and told him to hint at Keifer to throw the guitar pic my way at the end of the show. He left and came back with 2 guitar pics, one for me and one for grace. :) I had a white one from March, but this one was black :)
So Finally it was time for T2 to come on after 5 opening acts! thats a lot!! lol I was sooo excited!!! :) ohh and I also met the T2 team!! You know when you see -T2 team after certain tweets or fb comments! Yes! in person! lol it was so funny, b/c they actually came up to me as I didn’t know what they looked like or anything. And they were replaying how they were scanning through the crowd and picked me right out. haha They Said they feel like the know me lol since we email all the time. They were telling someone they were with I was a nurse and what not… she looked like she was not even believing it…. lol What can I say… I look like I’m 12… but thats ok b/c it allows me to jump around at a T2 concert with an 11 year old and totally fit in… We don’t even need to try and double that age! lol
It was funny cuz they were saying how now they have some competition in picture taking and they were like “I surrender, Jencita wins.” lol but i told them my pics probably wouldn’t be that great cuz my camera isn’t the best in certain lighting and that i was gonna make some videos too but mostly be dancing. They were excited to see me in action. lol I told them i get a lil crazy! It was nice to have grace there… since she’s their biggest fan and all she totally jammed out with me. :) She was so cute, she gave Shawna the sign she made her like right when she came out and then she gave shawna one of my glow in the dark bracelets. lol I had a package and split them up between us. Shawna wore it the whole concert lol. Grace pretty much just did whatever I did. So we were both jumping and going crazy and singing and yes people were looking at us like we were crazy!
THEY”RE THE CRAZY ONES?! Why you no love T2 as much as we do? lol and yes i realize my grammar is off- it was on purpose. lol

It wasn’t long enough for sure… but then it never is! :) All the jumping and dancing paid off though!! The concert was broadcast on sirius xm radio and during are you gonna kiss me or not, Keifer Called Shawna over and he said there have been two girls jamming out the whole time and they should get us to sing with them. haha uh oh! He asked if we had singing voices and I said not really lol. Shawna said we were kind of shy and got the crowd to encourage us. lol So They got down and Keifer played on his guitar and we both sang into the mic. Are You gonna kiss me or not? Are we gonna do this or what? Look at all the love that we got… then they took it from there. :)

Gosh I love them! Even though I can’t sing and it sounded awful lol it was awesome of them to do that! it was funny b/c they were like “you’re in nashville, here’s your shot.” lol After they were done they signed and took some pictures. I got my magazine Signed and I wanted to take a picture but a girl pushed me out of the way, so i decided not to b/c I already have a lot with them and wanted to give others a chance. Although I was slightly sad b/c it was my first T2 show that I didn’t get a picture with them. lol I really wish I could of said bye and thanked them for everything but I’m sure they know.
I’ll see them twice next month in Colorado :) and Once in August In Cali :) I cannot wait!! I’m bringing my bf to the cali one too so it will be wonderful for them to finally meet? Hopefully?! :) And if we get to take a picture I’m thinking we should do like prom style lol.

I couldn’t be more thankful for the opportunities I’ve had with them. Now that I think about it…I don’t think I ever did write a ACM Blog post but that’s ok. I’ve had priceless moments and Im so thankful for everything. It’s not hard to understand why they are my favorite. :) They are so genuine and humble no matter what happens to them. It took them so long to get to this point that they take nothing for granted. They can’t even believe they have fans!
They are on the road a lot this summer and after Lady A they will be doing all their own shows for the rest of the year. They will be announcing a new tour starting in January and its suppose to be very exciting. I don’t even know who’s going on tour in January. I tried looking it up! lol I can’t wait to find out… since I will be paying to go to their concerts so I can see T2 :p
Their next album will be out next year too so I’m super excited for that :)
